Ilham Aliyev: Humanitarian demining is at the core of the restoration of cities and the creation of safe settlements

Humanitarian demining lies at the very foundation of urban recovery and the creation of safe communities. Azerbaijan has faced this problem in its most acute form.

As reported by AZERTAC, this was stated in the address of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the IV International Conference on Mine Action on the topic "Humanitarian Demining for Urban Recovery: Setting Standards of Best Practices for Ensuring the Safety of Communities."

The head of state noted that as a result of nearly thirty years of occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, our country has become one of the most mine-contaminated countries in the world.
