President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of condolence to the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
As reported by AZERTAC, the message states:
"Dear Mr. Chairman,
We are deeply shocked by the news of the death and injury of a large number of people as a result of an explosion at a coal mine in Shanxi Province.
In connection with this tragedy, I express my deepest condolences personally and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan to You, the families and loved ones of the victims, and the friendly Chinese people, and wish a speedy recovery to those injured."
