Ilham Aliyev: Construction of the road to Nakhchivan may be carried out by American investors

The construction of the road connecting the main part of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic may be carried out by American investors.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in an interview with "Al-Arabiya".
"Now that US President Donald Trump has given his name to the Zangezur Corridor, I am confident that it will be implemented in the near future. As for the construction of physical infrastructure, I mean the railway, it should not take much time, because the route is only 42 kilometers long. If we were building it, we would do it in a year, since we have more experience in railway construction. Armenia, on the other hand, might need a few more years," said the head of state.
"In fact, it doesn't matter to us. What's important for us is that the railway is built, and that there are international security guarantees. In other words, Azerbaijanis traveling from Nakhchivan to the main part of the country or in the opposite direction should not experience discomfort. They should not worry about their safety, given the long-standing confrontation and hostility," he added.
