Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will participate in WUF13 in Azerbaijan

The national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will participate in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in May in Baku.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated in an interview with Report by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan Gurbanmammet Elyasov.

"It is expected that the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will participate in the forum. His visit will underscore Turkmenistan's commitment to active participation in the international dialogue on sustainable urban development," he said.

The ambassador noted that WUF13 will be a significant milestone in advancing the global agenda of sustainable urban development and strengthening international cooperation in the field of modern urbanism.

"In Turkmenistan, priority attention is given to issues of housing construction and modernization, as well as creating comfortable living conditions for the population. A key direction of the state urban planning policy is the formation of a favorable, modern, and safe urban environment. A vivid confirmation of this course is the country's capital - Ashgabat, as well as the city of Arkadag, which demonstrate dynamic development and a comprehensive approach to urban infrastructure planning," he added.

It should be noted that WUF13 will be held in Baku on May 17-22, 2026.
