Another decision has been made on the criminal case being investigated by the SGB against Ramiz Mehtiyev and other persons accused of actions aimed at seizing state power.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to APA, based on materials collected in the criminal case, a decision was made to involve the former First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Abbas Abbasov, in the investigation of this criminal case, who for many years evaded responsibility due to the patronage of Ramiz Mehtiyev. Due to the fact that Abbasov is outside the country and evading investigation, he has been put on the wanted list.

Note that A. Abbasov has held the position of First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan since 1992. During this period, he was the chairman of several state commissions. After being relieved of his position in 2006, he began living in the Russian Federation.

During the past period, A. Abbasov carried out subversive activities aimed at capturing and subjugating structures of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Russian Federation to his influence through various illegal methods.

In 2012, he became the founder and leader of the notoriously known Union of Azerbaijani Organizations of Russia, which is known to everyone as the "Union of Billionaires" (while he did not forget to register himself as the official founder of this organization).

Rustam Ibragimbekov - the head of the "National Council" formed in Azerbaijan in early 2013 by Ali Kerimli and his entourage, was also a member of the Coordination Council of the "Union of Billionaires" under the direct leadership of Abbas Abbasov.

Despite the fact that back in 2012 there were warnings that the creation of the "Union of Billionaires" aimed to influence political processes in Azerbaijan, Rustam Ibragimbekov, speaking on behalf of this Union, denied these accusations in an interview. The events of 2013 are known to everyone.
