Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Ukraine held strategic negotiations

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Ukrainian delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga, during his visit to Azerbaijan.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda based on the relations of friendship and partnership between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Special attention was paid to the prospects for developing cooperation in the political, economic, energy, transport, and humanitarian spheres.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the traditional mutual support for territorial integrity and sovereignty that both countries have provided to each other over many years. He noted the importance of developing bilateral relations based on the norms and principles of international law, particularly respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of state borders.

The parties also discussed prospects for deepening economic ties. The importance of the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine was emphasized as an important tool for promoting bilateral interaction.

In addition, regional and international security issues were addressed at the meeting. In this context, an exchange of views took place on topics of mutual interest.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the Ukrainian side about the progress of restoration and construction work carried out in the post-conflict period in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation. He also spoke about the current state of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, noting the obstacles created by the Armenian side.

In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga, highly appreciated the humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan to Ukraine, including in the areas of restoration of territories affected by the conflict and humanitarian demining. He also conveyed congratulations to the Azerbaijani people on the occasion of May 28 - Independence Day.

During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
