Five years have passed since the liberation of Minjivan from occupation

Today, October 21, marks the Day of Liberation of Mindzhivan settlement in Zangilan district from Armenian occupation.
Four years have passed since the liberation of this settlement from Armenian invaders.
On October 21, 2020, along with the Mindzhivan settlement, the Zangilan villages of Babayly, Uchunjyu Agaly, Saryl, Khumarly, Hajally, Khurama, Turabad, Jahangirbeyli, Icheri Mushlan, Gyrag Mushlan, Melikli, Udgun, Baharli, the Jabrayil villages of Balyand, Papy, Tulus, Tinli, and the Fuzuli villages of Gejagyozlyu, Ashagy Seidahmadli and Zargar were liberated.
It should be noted that Mindzhivan is located on the banks of the Araz River. It was founded in 1795-1798 after families from the village of Mindzhivan in South Azerbaijan were relocated to this territory. In the 19th century, two villages with this name were registered in Zangezur district.
Mindzhivan was occupied by the armed forces of Armenia in 1993. Before the occupation, there were schools, libraries, kindergartens, and a railway station on the territory of the settlement. After the first Karabakh War, Armenians destroyed everything in the settlement and dismantled the railway. Part of the rails was sold, while the other part was used to create anti-tank fortifications.
