First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva and members of her family took part in a tree planting ceremony in the Vatican Gardens

On October 17, the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and members of her family, together with the President of the Governorate of Vatican City State, Sister Raffaella Petrini, participated in a tree planting ceremony in the Vatican Gardens.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the pomegranate tree gifted to the Holy See by the Azerbaijani side, brought from our country, is considered a symbol of the source of life, family integrity, abundance and fertility in our culture. It was noted that pomegranate, which has many beneficial properties, is widely represented in various aspects of our culture.
The pomegranate tree planted in the Vatican Gardens, which are of great importance from historical, architectural and religious perspectives, will symbolize friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Holy See.
Expressing deep gratitude to Mehriban Aliyeva for this valuable gift from the Azerbaijani side, the President of the Governorate of Vatican City State, Sister Raffaella Petrini emphasized that it will become an important symbol of the upward-developing friendship and cooperation between our states.
