Davos Messages of Ilham Aliyev
Speech of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the World Economic Forum panel in Davos on "Defining the Economic Identity of Eurasia," as well as his interview with Euronews channel given on the sidelines of the forum, became a landmark event of the past Tuesday.
This is stated in the latest report of the Youtube channel Caliber.
"Interest in these speeches went far beyond the South Caucasus, as it was not only about the results of a 30-year historical stage for Azerbaijan, but also about the formation of a new model of regional security. At the center of this model, as the President himself expressed, is not a "long-term," but rather eternal peace as a strategic goal for the entire region.
In his responses both to the moderators of the panel discussion and to the Euronews correspondent, the President reminded that Azerbaijan's path during the years of independence was difficult and largely tragic. Almost three decades of conflict with Armenia were accompanied by occupation of territories, destruction of cities and villages, and forced displacement of millions of people. For many years, Azerbaijani society maintained hope for justice, but gradually lost faith in the effectiveness of international institutions. Four UN Security Council resolutions, numerous documents from the OSCE and other international organizations were not implemented in practice. International law remained only on paper, without becoming an instrument for restoring justice," the video material states.
