Islamophobia, discrimination, and hatred directed against people because of their religious beliefs undermine the most fundamental principles of human dignity, equality, and mutual understanding.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this is stated in a publication by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on the social network X on the occasion of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia.

"On the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, we reaffirm our firm commitment to respect, tolerance, and peaceful intercultural and interreligious coexistence. Islamophobia, discrimination, and hatred toward people because of their religious beliefs undermine the very principles of human dignity, equality, and mutual understanding. There is no place for such prejudice in our societies," the statement notes.

It is also emphasized that Islam is founded on the values of peace, compassion, justice, and solidarity.

"Distorting the image of Islam or stigmatizing it is unacceptable. Combating all forms of intolerance remains essential for building inclusive, peaceful, and resilient communities," the ministry's publication states.
