Azerbaijan on the European political arena: results of the 7th EaP summit in Copenhagen

The 7th summit of the European Political Community was held in the capital of Denmark. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took part in the event, arriving in Copenhagen on a working visit at the invitation of Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and President of the European Union Council António Costa, writes the newspaper "Caspian".
The EPC includes EU member states and 20 other countries in the region, including Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, and Moldova.
The forum was dedicated to supporting Ukraine and improving the overall security situation in Europe. Plenary sessions and round tables discussed topics such as the general situation in Europe, the Russian-Ukrainian war, economic security, migration, traditional and hybrid threats.
Recall that the first EPC summit was held in October 2022 at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron against the backdrop of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Heads of state and government from about 50 countries participated in the 7th summit.
The European Political Community is an intergovernmental platform designed to promote political and economic coordination between small and large countries both within and outside the EU to strengthen cooperation in areas such as security, economic stability, and democratic governance.
We are committed to peace
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on October 2 on the sidelines of the summit in Copenhagen.
The meeting emphasized the importance of agreements reached at the Washington Peace Summit initiated by US President Donald Trump. The parties reaffirmed their readiness to work on further strengthening peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and also highlighted the benefits of transport communications for the region, discussed the current progress in infrastructure development in Azerbaijan and the TRIPP project in Armenia, and exchanged views on the implementation of the Washington Declaration.
They also welcomed the unanimously adopted decision to close the OSCE Minsk process and related structures, emphasizing the importance of further implementation of confidence-building measures, and agreed to continue mutual contacts.
Simultaneously, as if to confirm this attitude, the National Assembly of Armenia adopted a statement on establishing peace with Azerbaijan. Drafted by the "Civil Contract" faction, it was adopted with 64 votes and two abstentions.
The statement outlines the theses underlying the agreements signed on August 8 this year in Washington by the leaders of Azerbaijan, the United States, and Armenia.
The Armenian Parliament also called on the political, expert circles, and cultural communities of the two countries to refrain from discourse and actions that would reignite the conflict. Meanwhile, all this became the fruit of Azerbaijan's purposeful actions to defend its just position and strengthen its geopolitical weight and authority on the world stage.
Recall that at the very first EPC summit in Prague in 2022, Armenia's recognition of our country's territorial integrity was recorded. At the same time, plans to expand the EU spy mission into Azerbaijan's territory were thwarted.
World recognition
On October 1 in Copenhagen, a reception was given on behalf of King Frederik X of Denmark and Queen Mary Elizabeth, to which the head of the Azerbaijani state Ilham Aliyev was invited. This fact once again testifies to the indisputable authority of our political leadership.

They congratulated Ilham Aliyev on the successes achieved in Washington regarding the peace agenda, expressing hope that this would serve to ensure lasting peace in the region.
