Trump announced 100% tariffs against China and export controls starting November 2025

U.S. President Donald Trump has made a bombshell announcement that could result in an unprecedented escalation of the trade war between the world's two largest economies. According to him, the United States plans to impose 100% tariffs on Chinese goods, as well as export controls on critical software, starting in November 2025. This move, in Trump's view, will be a direct response to similar actions by Beijing.
As reported by Baku.Ws citing Donald Trump's post on his social network Truth Social, Washington's potential measures will be unprecedented in their severity. "Starting November 1, 2025 (or earlier, depending on any further actions or changes taken by China), the United States of America will impose a 100% tariff on China, on top of any tariff they are currently paying," the publication states. In addition, from the same date, the U.S. plans to introduce export controls for any critical software, which will affect a wide range of technological products.
According to Trump, these retaliatory measures will be a response to China's announced plans to introduce large-scale export restrictions, which are also set to take effect on November 1 and will affect "virtually all goods it produces." If the statements are implemented, this will lead to a most serious escalation of the trade conflict and could have a colossal impact on the global economy, global supply chains, and the cost of goods for consumers around the world.
