In addition, from the same date, the U.S. plans to introduce export controls for any critical software, which will affect a wide range of technological products.

According to Trump, these retaliatory measures will be a response to China's announced plans to introduce large-scale export restrictions, which are also set to take effect on November 1 and will affect "virtually all goods it produces."
