Rovshan Najaf: Azerbaijan has unique opportunities in terms of energy

Azerbaijani hydrocarbon projects remain attractive to international investors.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, this was stated by the president of the State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf during his speech at the Baku Energy Forum.
According to him, among SOCAR's partners are companies that are implementing the energy transition in a balanced way.
"Currently, many partner companies are contributing to energy security through an energy mix that encompasses both traditional oil and gas and renewable energy sources. This is being done against the backdrop of commitment to zero emissions and sustainable development. We believe that with the right technologies and strong allies, production is possible with minimal environmental impact. We constantly discuss how we can contribute to the development of such systems, exchange knowledge and technologies," said the head of the State Oil Company.
R.Najaf noted that SOCAR also continues to invest in oil and gas field exploration:
"The reason for this is our confidence that global demand for these resources will persist for decades to come. But we must carry out this process also on the basis of sustainability principles, using the most advanced technologies and in parallel with decarbonization efforts."
He added that Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus region as a whole have unique opportunities in terms of energy.
"In this region, companies can invest in both traditional energy sources and renewable energy and decarbonization projects in one place. This creates a rare opportunity for a balanced energy mix," concluded Rovshan Najaf.
