An increase in a number of pensions and benefits is expected.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Xezerxeber.az, last year President Ilham Aliyev signed an Order "On continuing measures to improve the social welfare of the population," which instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to prepare and submit proposals within 3 months to increase the amounts of social benefits and pensions. This period expired on March 23. When will social benefits and pensions be increased?

Deputy Vugar Bayramov notes that after the signing of the relevant document by the country's leadership, an increase in social benefits and pensions will be implemented, which will cover approximately 3 million people.

Economist-expert Khalid Kerimli says that the amount of the increase is an issue directly within the competence of the government. Reserves have already been created in the budget for this, and signals have been given to society about the upcoming increase.

The economist also noted that an increase in social benefits and pensions is expected in accordance with the percentage increase in the minimum wage and pension in the country. This figure may vary from approximately 10 to 15 percent.

The economist emphasized that the formation of a state budget surplus of more than 3 billion manats, as well as tax revenues exceeding 5.7 percent, create the basis for increasing social benefits and pensions.
