Despite existing prohibitions in the country related to organ transplantation, there are many people on social media willing to sell their kidney, liver, or other organs. A 24-year-old citizen of Azerbaijan has already sold his kidney in Germany for 200 thousand dollars.

A Baku TV correspondent contacted one of the potential donors to find out the price. This person reported that he undergoes medical examinations every six months and offers his kidney for 20-30 thousand manats (about 12-18 thousand dollars).

The Coordination Center for Organ Donation and Transplantation stated that organs can only be donated on a gratuitous basis.

Otherwise, if the donor's health condition is not suitable for organ donation, they are not a close relative of the recipient, or it is done for commercial purposes, then it is considered a violation of the law and is prohibited.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) stated that every advertisement for the sale of organs posted on social media or by individuals is investigated by the police.
