Who is to blame for the destructive situation in Iran?
In the current protests continuing in Iran, a group known as the "bazari" - merchants and shop owners - deserves special attention.
This is one of the wealthiest and traditionally loyal to the authorities social groups in the country. When even they take to the streets in protest, the situation takes on a truly destructive character.
"People are dissatisfied. Don't look for culprits, following the example of the United States. Don't look for fault in other people. It is we who must serve the people, and it is the people who must be satisfied with us. We must manage our resources correctly. It is we who must find a way and solve the problem," said Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Thus, the leadership of the Islamic republic essentially acknowledges its fault, stating that the responsibility for what is happening lies with themselves.
However, the question arises: are steps being taken now - or will they be taken - to normalize the situation in the country?
