The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for economic cooperation with foreign countries Kirill Dmitriev met US President's special envoy Steven Witkoff at Vnukovo airport.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by a TASS source close to the negotiations.

Witkoff last came to Moscow for negotiations on April 25, and before that on April 11 to St. Petersburg. Both times, Russian President Vladimir Putin held meetings with him. Since the beginning of the year, this is already Witkoff's fifth visit to Russia.

An aircraft, presumably with US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steven Witkoff on board, departed from the United States toward Russia.

As reported by BAKU.WS, TASS was informed about this by sources in air traffic control services.

"The aircraft, which presumably has Witkoff on board, has departed from the USA," the agency's source said.

Earlier, several TASS sources, including representatives of the American side, informed that the special envoy's visit to Russia is expected on Wednesday, August 6. President Trump himself previously confirmed that Witkoff might visit the Russian Federation this week, on Wednesday or Thursday.

According to Bloomberg agency, citing its own sources, Moscow is considering the possibility of concluding an air truce with Ukraine. This step could be a concession to US President Donald Trump in an attempt to prevent the imposition of harsh secondary sanctions against Russia.

As the agency notes, the Kremlin understands that Witkoff's upcoming visit represents the last opportunity to reach an agreement with the Trump administration. At the same time, Bloomberg sources emphasize that expectations for the success of the negotiations are "low."

One of the agency's sources reported that the suspension of mutual missile and drone strikes could be one of the potential proposals from the Russian side - provided that Ukraine also agrees to such terms. At the same time, according to Bloomberg, Russian President Vladimir Putin is not ready to agree to a complete ceasefire, as the Russian Armed Forces "continue to make confident advances on the battlefield."

Recall that Trump gave Russia until August 8 to cease fire. Otherwise, he promises to impose triple-digit tariffs on goods from countries that buy oil products from Russia.
