Trump's Condition for Weapons Supplies to Ukraine Named in Germany

US President Donald Trump rejected Ukraine's request for air defense systems from American reserves, suggesting instead that European countries provide the necessary weapons. This was reported by the German publication Bild with reference to sources in the German government.
According to the publication, Germany will likely not only finance the supplies but will also be forced to allocate its own air defense systems from the Bundeswehr arsenal, as Trump refuses to use US weapons.
Sources from Bild also note that Trump stated: financial aid alone is not enough - European allies must share their existing weapons and purchase new ones exclusively from American manufacturers. Meanwhile, Germany is already experiencing a shortage of air defense systems.
It was previously reported that the United Kingdom is considering purchasing American weapons systems for Ukraine's needs as part of the proposal voiced by President Trump.
