Trump made an unexpected statement about Russia
US President Donald Trump has for the first time openly called Russia an aggressor in the war against Ukraine, indicating a hardening of his rhetoric towards Moscow.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Politico, in a conversation with journalists, Trump, speaking about the losses among the military of the two countries, noted: "This week, 8 thousand soldiers from both sides were killed. A little more on Russia's side, but if you're the aggressor, you lose more."
The publication reminds that previously Trump avoided condemning the Russian invasion. In February, his administration opposed a UN resolution supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity and condemning Moscow's actions, thereby taking a position that coincided with Russia and North Korea. The US also objected to the G7 statement at that time, which directly called Russia an aggressor.
