US President Donald Trump stated that he had a phone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

This was reported by the American tabloid New York Post, citing the White House head himself.

"President Trump spoke on the phone with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in an attempt to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine," the publication states.

"I better keep quiet," the publication quotes him as saying.

The White House head once again emphasized that he has a "specific plan" to end Russia's war against Ukraine but provided no details.
