Trump announced the beginning of a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz
US President Donald Trump announced that the country's Navy and their allies are beginning a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
"Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the best in the world, will begin blocking each and every vessel attempting to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz," he wrote on the social network Truth Social.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the American leader added that the blockade will begin shortly and other countries will participate in it.
In addition, Trump stated that the US Navy will search for and intercept vessels that have paid Iran for passage through the strait.
"I have also ordered our Navy to search for and intercept in international waters every vessel that has paid a fee to Iran [for passage through the Strait of Hormuz]. No one who has paid the illegal fee will be given safe passage on the open sea," he noted.
