A loud judicial scandal is unfolding in Moscow around the elite real estate of Russian pop king Philipp Kirkorov. Saratov entrepreneur Gleb Ryskov has initiated legal proceedings, challenging the legality of the artist's acquisition of an extensive plot on the banks of the Moscow River and demanding that this territory be returned to city ownership, insisting on its public status.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Mash telegram channel, businessman Gleb Ryskov has filed a lawsuit demanding to invalidate the transaction through which the artist mortgaged a shoreline area of 4,200 square meters in 2014. Ryskov claims that this plot is a public place and rightfully should belong to the city. Over the past 11 years, Philipp Kirkorov has built an impressive infrastructure on the disputed territory, which includes:

  • A tennis court that transforms into an ice rink during winter.

  • Several cozy guest houses.

  • Decorative swings.

  • A permanent fence that completely blocked the territory from public access.

Philipp Kirkorov himself acquired the mansion in honor of his 50th birthday. This luxurious residence, located in the picturesque Moscow region, is surrounded by river waters and is part of the pop king's extensive property. The territory also includes a house for staff and security, a small private chapel, an elegant rotunda with direct access to a private beach, a garage for two boats, a central fountain on the alley, and a barbecue area. The artist personally selected the interior details, executed in Italian neoclassical style, which is decorated, in particular, with a collection of figurines by German designer Thomas Hoffman.

According to Mash, Gleb Ryskov already attempted this summer to get permission to use this land for implementing a charitable tourism project. However, he was refused because Kirkorov is listed as the official owner. The businessman aims to transform the disputed territory into a public beach area, accessible to everyone, with equipped canopies, food courts, and changing cabins. Now the fate of the elite shore will be decided by the court, where the entrepreneur will seek to have the transaction declared invalid and the plot returned to city ownership. This precedent could have far-reaching consequences for owners of coastal real estate in Russia.
