The tragedy that shook an Azerbaijani family in Ukraine: a police major killed in a drone strike

Pavlohrad, located in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, is regularly subjected to airstrikes and drone attacks by the Russian military.

As reported by Baku TV, the security situation in the city, located not far from the front line, is gradually deteriorating. According to local residents, attacks occur almost every other day.

The severe consequences of the war have also affected Azerbaijanis living in the region. Among them is 43-year-old Chingiz Gurbanov, a major in the Ukrainian police.

Chingiz Gurbanov, son of Sahib Gurbanov, who worked for many years in various positions in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, was killed in a drone attack during an official assignment. He was buried in the Muslim cemetery belonging to the Azerbaijani community in the city of Dnipro. It was in this city that he was born and raised.

The deceased is survived by two children. His daughter decided to follow in her father's footsteps and enrolled at Lviv University in a specialty related to police law.

It is noted that Dnipropetrovsk Oblast has also seen a significant influx of refugees from Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. Among those who have relocated to the region are Azerbaijani families as well.
