The ominous "black moon" will appear in the sky over Earth in a few days

In a few days, a "black moon" associated with apocalyptic prophecies will appear in the sky. This is reported by the British newspaper Daily Mail.

The astronomical phenomenon called a "black moon" occurs when a second new moon rises during a single calendar month. The new moon passes between the Earth and the Sun. Therefore, the side of the Moon facing the Earth remains in shadow and is invisible to the naked eye.

Those who believe in prophecies point to passages from the Bible, particularly the Gospel of Mark, which warns that "the Sun will be darkened, and the Moon will not give its light." Scientists, however, are confident that there is no cause for alarm.

According to Walter Freeman, an associate professor of physics at Syracuse University in the USA, if a new moon occurs at the beginning of the month, the next one may occur before the month ends. From an astronomical perspective, such a new moon is no different from any other.

The peak of the "black moon" will occur on August 22. This phenomenon happens approximately once every 33 months. The next appearance of the "black moon" is predicted for August 20, 2028.
