The Director of the Louvre proposed an original measure to protect against thieves
The head of the Louvre addressed the French Senate with a speech about the museum's security system and proposed measures against theft, according to Euronews.
Laurence des Cars, who acknowledged the inadequacy of the video surveillance system in France's most famous museum, put forward an original initiative - to create a permanent police station directly inside the Louvre building for effective protection against thieves.
According to her, there are several cameras around the perimeter, but they are outdated, their number is insufficient, and they do not cover all facades of the Louvre. Des Cars also emphasized that the Apollo Gallery, where the robbery took place, is not covered by video surveillance at all.
