Scientists decided to conduct a frightening manipulation with the Sun
Stardust company decided to reduce the brightness of the Sun in order to lower the temperature on Earth.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the American magazine New Yorker.
It is specified that the company is based in Israel and registered in Delaware. The authors of this ambitious idea want to apply the principle of volcanic eruptions, when millions of tons of sulfur dioxide reflect sunlight back into space. This way, the temperature on the planet's surface decreases.
The company characterized this scheme as "solar reflection technology" or geoengineering. According to the magazine, this idea has been floating around for decades, but the company has made a big, yet "frightening step forward." The innovative particles are intended to be sprayed above the clouds, where they will form a kind of mirror, reducing the heat impact of the Sun.
Meanwhile, scientists refused to disclose the composition of their type of reflective particles, emphasizing that they are completely safe for humans and ecosystems. According to the company's co-founder Yanay Yedvab, they do not plan to implement the developed technologies on their own, as this would require enormous costs and resources.
