Scientists compared the northeastern part of the Sun to a Christmas tree
The north-eastern part of the Sun has come to resemble a Christmas tree due to increased activity that began this weekend. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to scientists, the ongoing increase in energy release is essentially already noticeable "to the naked eye." In their words, the current increase in solar activity is more serious in nature than initially expected.
In particular, it may become a significant factor in space weather for at least several more days.
