Pavel Durov shared his father's teachings with the world

Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov presented three pieces of advice from his 80-year-old father, philology professor Valery Durov, intended for future generations. These recommendations, published by the entrepreneur in his personal Telegram channel, cover the most important aspects of life.
First of all, the professor recommended taking action rather than just talking, emphasizing that actions are the most powerful example, especially for children.
"People, especially children, follow your actions, not your words. Watching how my father tirelessly works on numerous books and scientific papers, my brother and I understood what dedication to work means, he inspired us to work hard too," said Pavel Durov.
The second piece of advice emphasized the importance of positive thinking and emotional control. Valery Durov, who survived the post-war period in Leningrad, mastered the skill of maintaining optimism and being a source of positive energy for family, colleagues, and society. He also passed on to his son the ability to formulate thoughts constructively, bringing maximum benefit even in difficult times.
Professor Durov's final guidance calls for always prioritizing conscience. He came to the conviction about the unconditional superiority of morality over talent, drawing this understanding from many years of studying and translating classical works, including those of Julius Caesar and Seneca. In his opinion, the moral compass remains the highest human quality, not losing its value even in the era of rapid development of artificial intelligence, unlike intelligence or creativity.
