One of the largest countries in Europe is contemplating leaving the EU
Poland could theoretically leave the European Union, as many Polish politicians regularly oppose any initiatives coming from Europe.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to News.ru, this was stated by the country's Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
Responding to a question about the plausibility of such a scenario, the diplomat noted:
"Yes, because we have politicians who say 'no' to any European initiative just in case. Remember how President Andrzej Duda objected to energy-saving light bulbs. Later it turned out that this proposal was introduced at the European Council with the participation of President Lech Kaczyński," Sikorski recalled.
He added that Polish right-wing nationalists perceive any initiative from Europe as something negative. According to the minister, such an approach is dangerous, as it was precisely this kind of thinking that once led to Brexit.
