Media: US does not want Israel's participation in new round of conflict with Iran
The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump does not want Israel to participate in a new round of hostilities with Iran, fearing a loss of control over the development of the conflict.
This was reported by CNN, citing two Israeli sources.
According to one of the channel's interlocutors, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would like to join the American strikes, but Washington is currently opposed to Israel's involvement in the hostilities. The White House has not yet commented on this information.
At the same time, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz earlier stated that the Israel Defense Forces are ready, if necessary, to independently resume military operations against Iran. According to one of CNN's sources, Israel believes that Trump is not interested in returning to a full-scale war and, as the most severe measure, may only agree to the restoration of a naval blockade of Iranian ports.
