US President Donald Trump has intensified pressure on European allies by demanding urgent military support in the Strait of Hormuz.
This was reported by the German magazine Der Spiegel, citing sources.
According to the information, upon returning from Washington, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte told European leaders that Trump expects Europe to take on specific commitments to deploy warships and other military forces in the strait. The political promises made earlier are no longer sufficient, the article states.
