In Italy, a group of German mountaineers died under an avalanche
Five climbers from Germany died as a result of an avalanche in the Trentino-South Tyrol region in northern Italy.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this is according to the Alto Adige publication, citing the local mountain rescue service.
It is specified that two groups were caught in an avalanche in the Ortles mountain range. In the first group, consisting of three people (a woman and two men), all participants died. In the second group, two survived, while two others were listed as missing until today. They turned out to be a father and his 17-year-old daughter.
The search and rescue operation took place in difficult weather conditions.
