General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Ukrainian troops left the city of Seversk

Ukrainian military have withdrawn from the city of Seversk in Donetsk region.

This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in their Telegram channel.

It is noted that heavy fighting continues in the Seversk area. It is indicated that Russian troops have a significant advantage in equipment and manpower. They continue their offensive attempts despite significant losses.

"In order to preserve the lives of our soldiers and the combat capability of units, Ukrainian defenders have withdrawn from the settlement. During the battles for Seversk, Ukraine's defense forces depleted the enemy, every meter of the city came at a high cost to the enemy," the Ukrainian military command emphasized.

The General Staff of the AFU explained that the Russian army advanced due to a significant advantage in manpower and constant pressure from small assault groups in difficult weather conditions.

It is emphasized that the city remains under the fire control of Ukrainian troops. "Blocking of enemy units is being carried out to prevent their further advance," the General Staff of the AFU added.
