The source of the fire was a burning car parked next to the highway. An investigation is underway.
The highway is cordoned off, residents were asked to stay in their homes, and some were even evacuated. The flames spread quickly due to strong winds. According to the latest data, the fire has already affected 700 hectares of territory in the commune of Le Pennes-Mirabeau near Marseille. Hundreds of rescuers are participating in extinguishing the fire.
