First Channel correspondent Anna Prokofieva died in Belgorod region

In the Belgorod region, a film crew from "Channel One" hit a mine while performing professional duties. As a result of the incident, military correspondent Anna Prokofieva was killed, and the cameraman working with her, Dmitry Volkov, was injured.
Information about the incident was confirmed by the TV channel's press service in a comment to RBC.
"Anna was 35 years old, and her birthday was coming up soon. She graduated from the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia with a degree in journalism and was fluent in Spanish. She worked in the Spanish editorial office of the "Russia Today" agency. She had been with "Channel One" since 2023 as a military correspondent, reporting from the war zone in Ukraine," the TV channel's statement said.
The last publication on Prokofieva's Telegram channel is dated March 25. "Somewhere on the border with country 404...", the journalist wrote and attached her photo. Earlier, on March 2 and 9, "Channel One" aired Prokofieva's reports from the border areas of the Kursk region.
Military correspondents Alexander Sladkov and Vladimir Romanov were the first to report the journalist's death in their Telegram channels. According to Romanov, the tragic incident occurred in the settlement of Demidovka in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district of the Belgorod region.
