Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Conor McGregor revealed that 54-year-old American entrepreneur, engineer, and billionaire Elon Musk wanted to provide him with financial assistance in the presidential race in Ireland, reports Gazeta.ru.

His words were shared by journalist Adam Glyn on the social network X.

"Elon is a real superhero. He gave me a lot of his time and promised his support. You know, he even offered financial assistance, but I said I don't need it. I'm not here for the money. But he is a credit to humanity. I really appreciate that," he stated.

The presidential elections in Ireland are scheduled for November 11, 2025. On September 4, McGregor officially announced that he had entered the presidential race. After this, Musk publicly supported the athlete.

In March 2025, McGregor declared his intention to participate in the upcoming elections in November 2025. It is known that the fighter is a harsh opponent of migrants in Ireland and even recently met with US President Donald Trump on this issue. There, McGregor criticized his country's government for encouraging illegal migration.
