Durov announced a new project
World 24

Telegram Founder Pavel Durov presented a new project called Cocoon at the Blockchain Life 2025 forum in Dubai. It is a decentralized network for AI computing.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Odaily.

Developers will be able to use artificial intelligence without investing large amounts of money in their own infrastructure. Computing power will be provided to them by GPU owners who participate in the project.

Data processing requests will be distributed among available graphics cards in the network that perform AI computations, and equipment owners will be able to earn from this, Durov said. He promised that all data in this network would be encrypted - meaning no one will be able to see exactly what data the computers are processing.

This system differs from more traditional cloud AI models. For example, data processing in ChatGPT happens centrally - on OpenAI company servers. At the same time, according to the privacy policy, user requests and other data can be stored on servers, disclosed upon request to government agencies and other parties.

At the forum, Durov stated that creating decentralized technologies is the only way to preserve "digital freedoms." Telegram will become the first major client of Cocoon to provide the project with "demand and hype." The messenger will use the system "for confidential AI requests" and will invest in promoting the network in its global ecosystem. The project is planned to launch in November.
