Development of Azerbaijan-European relations discussed in Baku
The rapidly developing relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU) were discussed in Baku.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated in a report prepared by Haber Global in connection with the visit of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to Azerbaijan.
It is noted that following the one-on-one meeting between President Ilham Aliyev and von der Leyen, a meeting between the delegations took place. At the subsequent joint press conference, the head of state addressed the topic of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The President of Azerbaijan also drew attention to the rapidly deepening cooperation between our country and the European Union. It was noted that the EU is Azerbaijan's most important trading partner. European Union President Ursula von der Leyen highly praised the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in her remarks. She stated that the President of Azerbaijan had demonstrated personal leadership in promoting peace and cooperation in the region, which creates new opportunities for stability, mutual trust, and shared prosperity. According to her, the European Union supports this process and will continue to do so. Ursula von der Leyen stated that the EU believes in a bright future for this region and will allocate grants of up to 200 million euros for the development of transport, energy, and digital connectivity in the South Caucasus.
