Details of Tanker Passage Through the Strait of Hormuz Revealed by US Department of Energy

Oil tankers pass through the Strait of Hormuz at night under the escort of United States Navy ships.

As reported by the Al Jazeera television channel, this was stated by U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.

"The passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz is carried out at night under the escort of the U.S. Navy," he said.

According to him, "American data on the number of vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz is accurate, as it is based on actual vessel movements rather than estimated assessments."

Chris Wright claims that Washington has "deprived Iran of the leverage it was trying to use by holding global shipping hostage."
