Body of missing Azerbaijani citizen found in Istanbul

The body of Azerbaijani citizen Mahfura Huseynova, who went missing after boarding a passenger ferry in Istanbul, has been found.

The incident occurred on May 2. The woman boarded a ferry traveling the Kadıköy - Beşiktaş route but was not found among the passengers who disembarked ashore.

After the information was received, a search and rescue operation was launched. Several days later, Huseynova's body was found in the sea near the Haydarpaşa district and handed over to the relevant authorities.

According to surveillance camera footage, the woman passed through the turnstile in Kadıköy and boarded the vessel. The footage was shown to her daughter Nigar Yusifli, who confirmed her mother's identity.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
