Bear mauled an eight-year-old child in a nature reserve, the boy did not survive

In India, a child did not survive an encounter with a bear. This was reported by the New Indian Express.
The incident occurred in the Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary. According to the publication, in the evening, working relatives sent an eight-year-old boy to get milk from a grocery store, which was located 200 meters from this place.
After 45 minutes, the child did not return, so the relatives raised the alarm. During the search, the boy was found, but they could not save him. Initially, it was assumed that he was attacked by a leopard, but specialists examined the scratches on the victim's skin and concluded that they were inflicted by a sloth bear.
It is known that this is already the second such case in the last two months. Local authorities organized a meeting with residents. They discussed measures that would help prevent similar incidents in the future.
