Baghaei: Progress achieved in negotiations with the US on unblocking Iranian assets
Progress has been made in negotiations between the US and Iran in Switzerland on the issue of unfreezing frozen Iranian assets and oil sales.
As reported by BAKU.WS citing the Tasnim agency, this was stated by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei.
He noted that due to the publication of threatening statements, Iran chose not to continue the four-party meeting.
"The approach of the Iranian delegation is that we must compel the opposing side to fulfill its obligations," Baghaei emphasized. "Significant progress has been achieved on the issue of issuing the necessary permits for oil sales and unfreezing Iranian assets, and a decision has been made to establish a mechanism for the safe passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, which is of great importance."
According to the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, at this stage the work of the negotiating delegation has been completed, however technical groups will continue their work on June 22.
He stated that in connection with the negotiations held, Qatar and Pakistan will issue a statement.
