A strong earthquake occurred in Turkey in the Aegean Sea region. The tremors were felt in Izmir and other coastal areas.

According to Turkish media, the epicenter of the 5.2 magnitude earthquake, recorded at 16:04 local time, was at a depth of 7 kilometers.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) of the Turkish Republic's Ministry of Interior reported that this is the strongest earthquake ever recorded in the Aegean Sea.

It should be noted that numerous tremors have also been recorded on Greek islands over the past 2 days.
