Gurban Gurbanov thanked the football players for the historic victory

"It was a magnificent victory. Such victories give an impulse for the popularization of football in our country. I thank my players for the fighting spirit they showed. Perhaps, in the first minutes of the match there was some tension".

As reported by BAKU.WS, these words were said by the head coach of "Qarabag" Gurban Gurbanov after returning to Azerbaijan following yesterday's match.

Noting the victory over Portuguese "Benfica" with a score of 3:2 in the main stage of the Champions League, Gurbanov emphasized that this is the first victory in the history of Azerbaijani football at such a level.

"This was the first victory in the history of the club and Azerbaijan in the Champions League. Our players gained confidence. And, perhaps, the club became a little bigger. Thank God that after losing 0:2 we were able to make such a turnaround and achieve victory".
