Fernando Santos entered the history of the Azerbaijan national team with an anti-record.

As BAKU.WS reports with reference to Sport24.az, the national team suffered a crushing defeat from Iceland with a score of 0:5 in the qualifying stage of the 2026 World Cup.

The Portuguese specialist became the only coach who, having conducted more than 10 matches as the head of the Azerbaijan national team, did not achieve a single victory.

Under Santos's leadership, the team lost nine matches and drew twice, scoring only 4 goals and conceding 29 goals.
