Aykhan Abbasov did not accept the terms of AFFA

Head coach of the U-21 youth football team Aykhan Abbasov did not agree with the initial condition put forward by the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA).

As sport24.az reports, the leadership of the country's highest football body approached the specialist with a request to temporarily lead the main team as head coach for the upcoming matches.

However, Abbasov does not want to accept the "temporary" status. In a conversation with AFFA officials, he stated that he could take on this heavy burden if a full contract is signed.

The 44-year-old specialist also emphasized that if he is "at the helm" of the main national team for four matches, he will not be able to pay attention to the U-21 youth team. And this means that the work that has recently been carried out in the youth team will remain incomplete.

It should be noted that after Fernando Santos' resignation, Aykhan Abbasov led the team in the match against Ukraine.
