19-year-old cyclist dies after terrible fall
Italian cyclist Samuele Privitera died during the first stage of the multi-day race "Giro Valle d'Aosta" among athletes under 23 years old. This was reported on the competition's page on the social network X.
19-year-old Privitera was involved in an accident on the track. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
The organizers decided to cancel the second stage of the race. The competition will resume on July 18 with the third stage, and before its start, there will be a minute of silence in memory of the deceased. Teams will be able to decide for themselves whether to participate in the race or not.
