What was happening on the AZAL aircraft during the crash in Aktau?

Baku TV channel presented a documentary film J2-8243: Son uçuş ("J2-8243: The Last Flight").

The film tells the stories of passengers and crew of flight J2-8243 on the Baku - Grozny route, which crashed in Aktau on December 25, 2024. The film narrates about those who died, those who survived, and those who came to their aid in this terrible tragedy.

The filmmakers aimed not only to reflect the scale of the tragedy but also to show the courage of people, preserving the memory of those who lost their lives.

The premiere of "J2-8243: The Last Flight" took place on March 31 at 22:00.

Recall that on December 25, 2024, an AZAL aircraft operating flight Baku - Grozny No. J2-8243 crashed near Aktau (Kazakhstan). There were 67 people on board, including 5 crew members (37 citizens of Azerbaijan, 16 of Russia, 6 of Kazakhstan, 3 of Kyrgyzstan). 38 people died in the plane crash, including 3 crew members, including 2 pilots. 29 people survived.

On December 29, President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to award the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan to the deceased crew members of the AZAL aircraft that was operating the Baku - Grozny flight and crashed near Aktau - the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan was awarded to Kshnyakin Igor Ivanovich (posthumously), Kalyaninov Alexander Georgievich (posthumously) and Aliyeva Hokuma Jalil gizi (posthumously).

As it became known, on January 7, 2025, the Center for Investigation and Provision of Aviation Accidents of the Brazilian Air Force completed the decoding of the flight recorders ("black boxes") of the Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft that crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau. The information obtained was sent to Kazakhstan.

On February 4, a preliminary report on the accident investigation was published by the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan. It presented a chronology of events and photographs of the damage.
