The air route between Baku and Tabriz may be restored

Azerbaijan and Iran are considering the possibility of opening direct air service between Tabriz and Baku. This was reported by Iranian media citing the head of East Azerbaijan province Bahram Sarmast.

Sarmast made this statement during a meeting with the co-chairman of the State Commission for Cooperation between the two countries, Shahin Mustafayev. According to him, the launch of the flight will contribute to strengthening economic and tourist ties between Iran and Azerbaijan.

In addition, Sarmast reported on the agreement reached on student exchanges between universities of the two countries. He emphasized that during the visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Baku, the parties also discussed simplifying border crossing for Iranian students, education in Azerbaijan, and the implementation of joint scientific and technological projects.
