Successful operation at the Astara customs post: 103.3 kg of drugs discovered
Employees of the Astara Customs Administration identified and seized a large batch of narcotic substances as a result of a complex of operational-search and customs control measures.
As reported to BAKU.WS by the Public Relations and Press Department of the State Customs Committee, at the "South-Astara" customs post, a vehicle traveling in transit through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation with a cargo of "pepper" was subjected to a thorough inspection with the involvement of a service dog.
During the inspection, 154 rectangular packages hidden under a layer of goods were extracted from the bottom part of the boxes with pepper. The total weight of the seized marijuana was approximately 103 kg 395 g.
An investigation is underway regarding the incident.
